The Dog Cancer Ride Across America is a fundraiser to raise money for charities that help dog owners who can't otherwise afford it, pay for the care of their dogs with cancer.
There are already several organizations that provide this service. Wonderful organizations that help dog owners through these times of need. This ride will support several of those organizations, including a new one - the "Marty Miracle Fund" that has been created in honor of Marty himself.
The Dog Cancer Ride Across America will support the following charity initiatives:
"The Magic Bullet Fund" - This fund was created in honor of a dog cancer survivor named Bullet. It supports dog owners who are struggling to pay the costs of their dog's cancer care. I've sent numerous of my own clients to them, to help them find the funds they need to pay for their dog's care. The Magic Bullet Fund does great work for dogs and their owners, and I'm excited to donate a portion of the funds raised from the Dog Cancer Ride Across America to them so they can help even more dog owners meet the financial needs of caring for their pets.
The "Marty Miracle Fund" - The Marty Miracle Fund is a nonprofit charitable fund specifically created to help dog owners pay for the care of their dog's cancer care. The difference between the Marty Miracle Fund and the other funds supported by this ride, is the Marty Miracle Fund will focus exclusively on helping dog owners pay the cost of holistic and natural alternative treatments for their dogs. This fills an important gap from other organizations that can't always help dog owners get the necessary supplements and holistic care their dogs need to fight this cancer.
(The Marty Miracle Fund is a charitable fund managed by Giving Globally - an Oregon based 501(c)3 that helps other charities raise funds to support their philanthropic. I am grateful to Giving Globally for helping bring the Marty Miracle Fund into existence under its 501(c)3 mission and for helping support this important cause.)
"Best Friends Forever" - The Dog Cancer Ride Across America is a wonderful way for dogs and their owers to join together to help all dogs get the cancer care they deserve. But what happens next year, and the year after that - once the donations from the Ride are spent? Best Friends Forever will invest a portion of the funds raised by The Dog Cancer Ride Across America into ongoing charity fundraising operations, to ensure that money is available long after the ride is over, year, after year, after year, to help dogs get the care they need. In so doing, Best Friends Forever hopes to ensure, with your support, that Ted never has to ride his bicycle 4,000 miles again to raise awareness and funds for these wonderful dogs in need.
Finally, as important as this dog cancer cause is to me and to the dog owners who need this support - and no matter how many friends and supporters will want to support the ride and my efforts to raise charitable donations - I understand that some people may prefer to have other "non-dog related" organizations receive their charity donations. For that reason, we are happy to accept donations to any other charity of your choice in support of the ride. Because as much as I love dogs, and as much as I want to help them, my true love is charity in general, and my true desire is to desire to get the community involved in gifting and sharing and opening up their hearts and their wallets to help others in the community.
So please do not feel limited by the single charity that I've chosen to support. If you would rather have your donations targeted towards a different organization just send me an email message or indicate your preference on your donation form, and I'll do my best to honor your request.
